LEVEL 5 – Crisis Intervention
Rural Veterans and service members who are at increased risk for depression and suicidal crisis and local community agencies that are likely to provide medical care to individuals following a suicide attempt.
Provide information about currently available VHA and community resources for crisis and support services.
Distribute VHA posters, fliers, and other resources advertising available VHA suicide and crisis services such as the National Veterans Crisis Line and the VHA Suicide Prevention Coordinators as well as other community based services across multiple community settings; Develop materials to educate about how to use crisis and support services and dispel any myths that may hinder use.
Increased awareness and utilization of available VHA and community crisis and support services.
Vets4Warriors provides 24/7 peer support for Veterans regarding legal issues, housing, medical, psychological and other need. The website also provides a list of resources to promote psychological health.
